Post-Bariatric Surgery Support

Bariatric Surgery (Weight Loss Surgery) requires lifelong follow up to ensure a healthy nutritional status. Additionally, many people find that their hunger and cravings return 12-24 months following their procedure, at about the time that they are released from follow-up care at the surgical center that performed their procedure. Teresa bridges the gap by offering long-term follow-up care to help ensure that weight loss and improved metabolic health last a lifetime.

Prior to opening Emerald City Wellness in 2015, Teresa worked in a large, hospital-based bariatric surgery center. Teresa applies her firsthand knowledge of the benefits and pitfalls of bariatric surgery to the ongoing care of patients who are at least 12 months post-surgery. (During the year immediately following surgery Teresa recommends regular follow up with your surgical team.)

Did you know? Hunger and cravings can return 12-24 months following the procedure.
Bariatric Surgery follow up may include:
  • monitoring nutritional status through labs
  • prescribing anti-obesity medicine
  • ongoing nutritional counseling
  • monitoring metabolic status and diseases that were present prior to surgery
  • other services relevant to care after bariatric surgery

Please note: Teresa may refer you back to your surgeon (or a local bariatric surgery center if your surgeon isn’t local to the Seattle area) for suspected complications and/or imaging associated with your bariatric procedure. Teresa does not provide hands-on care of adjustable gastric bands.

Emerald City Wellness would like to help you achieve and maintain optimal wellness following Bariatric Surgery.  Schedule an appointment today.
